Journey with an old friend

Glimpses of you caught over many years
And then across the street, a slow hand waived
Smiles across the streets collide
Set the day, new friendship stride

An Easter greet remembered, and then a fashion statement
An unambitious ask, how long before over coffee we talk
Sitting in a care center, a long day it had been
Good company I sought, my offer you took up keen.

Over cups of hot steam and brew
Exchanged innocent smiles, the comfort grew
The kept file, came out in the open
An unimagined moment there before you

Bundles of laughter settled our ways
Thru movies, dinners, coffees thereafter
Of crashes on roads, and bandaging long drives
Watching stars on terrace tanks high

Companionship of morning walks,
Tips of healthier, exercise talks
Loads of passion in you I seen,
What set out to achieve, unrested till brought in

Eager a person, lend out a helping hand
In all your days ahead, life surround you with many a friend
There be all times for you to laugh out loud
Success uniquely favor you amidst the crowd

Your bold claims, I sure know how to make an impression
All your madness and you, a smiling addiction
Comrade not alone in matters as these
Long days will go by, forgetting me wont be as ease

You’ll be remembered for your many surprises
The efforts taken to keep smiles going in all places
Of arms that held close and strong
When the day that had been, seemed all so wrong

Taught and have learnt, in this 2010
The months they have become memories
We sat down took a little time to pen
Perhaps read as the clock ticks, slowly reminiscence cease
So much to say of the many hours
Gripped by time and distance parts
For the road ahead, may blessings pour
Achieve your dreams, triumph define you,

A defined person, a mark you create
I pray ahead of time, humility be your friend
Your trust place in Him, He be with you every corner, every bend
Be the man He has called, called you to be.

Onward you go, fare-well I bid

I played the puppy

I played the puppy

I watched through the French windows

The little ball of fur she rolled over in glee

She waited her master to arrive

Her brown puppy eyes now turning to plea

She had been waiting now, a long while to come

She had met in the past, a lot of deprive

He walked in casual, as ever as he

She did the flip, pure joy as joy can be

T ’was amazing to see how in love was she

A dog to her master, that’s all she would ever be

Happy to cuddle up drop in to his lap

Happy to stay put, allow the ruffle in her fur

Turn up her head, a generous lick upon his face

Her puppy nozzle a cold trail she leaves

Gladly she’ll give all that he could ask

Yet, what could a puppy give, to love her back

Alas, a moment does not last a moment longer

Came in this beautiful lady, fair white and all

Shrugged off the puppy, cuteness, her head and heart

Desperate she tried, maybe a trick would retain

A little while longer, see! I can stand on two feet

Paused for a fleeting one, he flashed a look,

Little puppy, I am amused, but you’re not worth a bit

Turned around, followed the white one

Little puppy it’s a world entertained full of con

Don’t let your furry bounce be bothered

Your puppy brown eyes let not a tear run

It is as it is, life has it ways, destiny you won

Dialogue in the Dark

This is my world, and all the colors within

My mind gropes through her imagination seen

I’m surrounded by hues, I reach out to feel

Their radiant auras, they are so real

The sidewalks tell me, places I have to go

The wind she beckons, calling thru her soft blows

The chaos of city traffic, will it ever cease

The want to get away, I hide in the darkness, find me please

The trot over, I cross the other side of the bridge

I take in the chirpings, all in the moment seize

The gently lullaby of the boat that rocks

Savored memories, anchor them to my minds dock

My touch she tells me, so alive & green

The felt freshness, a picturesque sheen

The tastes of not knowing what you have had

The joy of sweet aromas, thru your senses clad

They say my world is all devoid of color

But how would they know

Have they experienced all I see, hour after hour

The spray of gentle waters, they show me much more

Have you gazed into my world, in all its beautiful awe

Do your eyes restrain you, by only that, that you see

I open doors for you, beyond the see of nature’s law

My blindness has not bound me, its expressions have set me free

Your Love has kept me

When the day wears on, disturbed emotions it brings

When time trickles in, the cords of melancholy it sings

When the seconds become heavier, as the moment it passes

When life mocks you, its endless farces

A troubled spirit, a journey down trodden

Fate has it, it seems, all misfortune begotten

Tears roll down, your forever companion,

A lonely one, a lonely daughter of Zion

Temptation prowls on, its pleasures so fair

Sin dances her finest, twirls a beguiling lair

Chanting in melody, charming seduction

O’ to give in, fall into her slow persuasion

A suffocated body, emotions welled up

Desperate to break free, give up this cup

Tear down my mind, body and soul

I am before Thee, a drained out begging bowl

Gentle a glance, gaze down upon me

Withered am I, unheard moan, a distressed plea

Tears no more, there’s only so much

Your Word, Your promise, a feeble hand efforts to touch

Sent down Your angels, in tender care lifted me

Gathered together, placed safely in the bosom of Thee

Sight the Cross, pinned to it all my sin, grief and cry

The world’s was taken over, what was I?

His miracle He calls, If you were the only one

On the rough tree, I’d do for you, all that was done

Long before time began, I have loved you dear

Borne within Myself, I have cried your every tear

Your love for me is eternal, more than my life can behold

Your moments planned for me, in Your likeness to mould

Sheltered and protected, from life’s trial & strife

Your promise never to forsake, Your love has kept me.

The best sweethearts

I should wonder, and stop before I start

But then again, why again, I’ve had the best sweethearts

Should I shy before I begin

Curl the smile, give way, the slow dimpled grin

I’ve been the most fortunate.. oh wait

Perhaps more have they been, (I chuckle)

I watch you happy, flowing on guided by beautiful fate

I’ve prayed nothing less, in your life blessings sparkle

Amazing two, cherished relationships so few,

Was I fortunate to have the ‘bestest’ of loves

A rose petal kissed by soft, early morning dew

No endings perched in a ring, turtle doves

We’ve turned backed looked at images drawn in sands

We’ve smiled as the waves reached over

Took away time from our joined hands

Linger & cherish, the extra moment… we hover

Hearts of gold, He made them, dearer He holds

An upset me, over again, Father a story of old

I’ll question You, for what reason & need

Planted each time, new blooms from a love seed

How can you be, all in one, the most wonderful

The Master favored you, set you apart

And to Him I’m ever grateful,

Let you steal my heart

Au Revoir GE

A journey called GE, a decade it has been

A pathway of opportunities, sometimes thru thick & lean

A mountain of learning’s I’ve enveloped within me close

I walk into a new world, as GE can I pose?

I pray I’ll do justice, for all it has taught,

I’ll look for the comfort, the years had brought

Then I gaze at new horizons, confident as can be,

Over my shoulder, are the years of you GE

My leaders, mentors, managers & guides

In your many teachings security, surely I stride

You’ve let me be, sometimes error and fall

Yet knowing your there, allowed me to face it all

My teams, my friends, my cherished few

Added all to life’s beauty colors & hue

Life’s choicest God has blessed me with

In these beautiful years, He has let me, you meet

I embark a journey, of the other side green

My memories are mine, cocooned within

Shaped & molded, I am for the world to see

Many a credit given, to a place called GE

I bid fare-well, it’s a hard bye to say

If I’ve hurt you, then do forgive I pray

God’s will manifest in all you do

Shine as diamonds, as He has planned for you

Well Wishes Friend

For the countless hours spent with me
for laughter that went far beyond it meant to be
for cherished moments for a wonderful year
Keeping me away from my lonely fear

For being one so special, as special can be
I close my eyes, your warmth and love i see
Good natured, your blessed with a heart of gold
Many joys and love, may the future unfold

A new journey you have embarked upon
Accomplished life, for this reason gone
Success befriend you in every path
Everything you hold dear, be cherished in your heart

A hand to hold

I reach out for a hand to hold

My morning walks, unaccompanied, I am so cold

I look at my smile, will someone care to share

Childishly walking down the lanes, I wish it to be a pair

The gentle breeze whiffs by my ear

The little butterfly, rests on my shoulder, pauses to hear

I tell her my desire, sit out in dim light

My beloved eyes look into, hold love in sight

Wake up to dawn, in arms that want to hold close

Warm you, your dreams, softly told

With giggles & merry cheer, finally out of bed rose

A happy day, I promise, for you I will unfold

Tossed up, my own cooked breakfast, its laid ;-)

Burnt toast, scrambled eggs, strawberry crush

Between every bite, the promised kisses paid

Smile at the day ahead, all the love & mush

A day I’ve thanked God for, make you all mine

Bury you in hugs & kisses, time tick away

All out to love you, cross every line

In timeless time, be by my side, let me lay

Watch into his handsome deep eyes

No words spoken, yet all you say I’ll hear

Watch across the silence, glimpse you,

What had I done, deserve, such a wonderful price

I look into the heavens, allow me to love

Prepare me first as a person rooted in love, from above

Love cords bind, hold dear & cherish

Your perfect plans unfurl, permit this love to flourish.

Not Alone

The left eye tear, she whimpers for company

So bare, alone she felt, was her destiny

The night dark& cold left back

Faces another day thrown by life’s deck

Along a path so less trodden

Oblivious to the world, she has been forgotten

Picked up her bag of memories, for all good

At life’s crossroads, alone she now stood

Looked back the years, how lovely it all had been

Bustled up with many dreams, she was so keen

Stepped up with gusto, her every stride

She was her own, her own self’s pride

Crumpled she sits, watches her naked heart

Her strewn, ransacked, once perfect, apple cart

How had she allowed, been so naïve

Life’s alone journey, now left to survive

The tear rolled, softly down her cheek

Turned she looked, would someone for her seek

Broken, takes to the ground, alone she bears

Prays to the Father, allow someone to care.

Gathered close, glanced upon His palm

Carved was I, praising in a Psalm

Never alone, have I let you been

My Own Love I have promised, see in John 3:16

Down a path...

Reminiscence of a path they called love

Little packets of memories, bowed with blue-red ribbons

Cushioned with more, tied sent on the feet of a dove

Across the ball room, eyes strode to lock

Treaded softly, towards your arms,

The evening glided slowly, sequenced moves to slow rock

Allowed you to savor, succumb to my charm

Walked down many lanes, green grass whistles

Stop under the old mangrove, pause for a kiss

A light jump over shrub bushes, thorns & thistles

Lied down, stroked your hair, closed eyes to bliss

Waited restlessly those evenings for you to come

A hard day it has been, comfort you yet again

Offer you warm lips, relieve stress, take some

Gentle fingers probe shoulders, withdraw the pain

Bruised my day, what would make you smile

Ran past all the menus, made it worthwhile

Warmly gazed, a hungry fork and knife dine

Washed away, sunk in the delights of twirling wine.

Dark curtained skies, hidden soft glows they tease

Warm love, caress you light

Watch your eyes close, the worries slowly cease

Kiss your dreams, good night.

Mama..

She held me close, her love so beautifully warm
Protected, sheltered us, from life’s every storm
Daily discipline, another day a new lesson taught
To forgive, overlook loving brat behavior, often sought

She rose tall, held the household chores in her palms
Her cool disposure stayed, little did I see lose her calm
Gathered the strewn books, settle down, study time
Smiled away our puffed cheeks, pleading whines

A smile, all the worry from his face it took
Gently across the hall way, at dad she would look
A step behind she walked, always been his pride
Ever since on a bent knee he accepted her, his bride

A woman graceful, many days she has been
Watched the moments pass by, held ground thru thick & thin
Wisdom and she have long been friends
Their chitter chatter, often deep messages they have sent

I look out for her, after the long hours of my day
Kindled thoughts, a gentle word, she’ll always have to say
The ever busy time of life, taketh from you further
Yet no distance, time gray out allow,
I’ll call on this love, the love of you, mother.

Confessions of an Insomniac

I get ready to get there, make sure its all comfortable

I’m keeping my day back, my mind sound, stable

The pillows are laid, the mattresses settled

Slide in between sheets, watch them disturbed, slowly crumple

Sigh I beneath the whites, hear the whistle of my breath

The familiar sound I desire leave behind

The day has been, has been long, strained some frets

In dreamy places I seek to go, my peace, in silence, I want to find

I turn to the wall, maybe its easier on this side to doze,

I pull the linens closer, envelop my face

The questions they come up, all ready in pose

I stare vacantly at nothing; they glare at me, a maze

The count of sheep, I’m told is one that works

The number draws to multiples of tens, now hundreds,

The dense darkness over me bends, lurks

I await my tired self and sleep to be wed

My mind forced, think nothing but blank

The myriad turns of yesterday, they scream in my head

Hopes of wonder sleep, before blurry eyes it sank

I try sink deep, steal the passing console of my bed

I crawl out a weary me out to stand the floor

I gaze to a watch that says, good morning, 5 AM

I inch my way out, past the bedroom door

My day pillars ahead of me, this is not the way I want to go

I’m dopey eyed, cramped before my laptop

I’m aimlessly typing, direction I lack

The nagging thought of pills, take em pop

Drive away this sleepless insomniac

Take thee love, not for granted

An ordinary day, lazy it must have been,
Seated, browsing nothing particular being seen
When trapped your mind, an alluring name you thought
Impatient to make contact, a manner you sought

It mustered courage positively to steer
Craft the move, wanted to advance near
A casual wish, let me start say hi
A prompt response, a relieved sigh

The anticipation of a friendship begun
Flashes of modest joy, laughter sprung
Dawn again bring in another day
May there be seconds to cherish, once more I pray

Tête-à-tête, and on they grew
Moments away, estranged now so few
Distance closed in, seized within arms so dear
I heeded to what you asked for, love, so clear

Treat me right, care for and love me most,
Be my lady, in you beautiful, rest my boast
A dream come true, a breathtaking you I kiss
Your doting remarks, so sweetened, I miss

Long drives, allow me the bliss of being with you
Softened words, I heard, acknowledged so true
Light caress, they told me how much you adore
Yield in to your love, expectant to soar

The busy strides of life are walking in
The rosy banters trickle now thin
Watch time tick around the clock
Seconds turn into hours, they seem to mock

Take thee love not for granted I plea
Time and attention rushed in, a heavy penalty fee
Been there seen over many repeated times
Oh to love so dear, is that my own blundered crime?

Kiss of a rose

Further than reached, my scent invade your senses
Lift you in a moment of sweet caresses
Gentle to know, how softer to touch
Sweet tingling moments, I have to tell much

Sweet slidings of creamy hues
Arch back, drown in the mighty blues
Whispered words of hush hushes
To measured moves the body blushes

Intoxicated sinks in the drawn close whiff
No different is she, a dark night thief
Your breath she’ll take, leave a sounded heave
Pricking thorn beds, the morning grieve

The gentle rose, long stemmed in grace
The beautiful lady, angeled face
The tauntings of their bodies so beautifully bare
Sweet seductions, desire you to dare

The tender kiss of the rose so red,
Her swaying hips, them she led
The adorned silhouette a designed carve
Succumb to slow delights of making love

My Nile...

Father God I’ve cried my Nile…
All efforts to stop, multiply, fared futile
And gathered has Thee, every rolled drop
Tomorrow You ask me, give me an account of
To what will I subject a depressed me
Life felt heavy be my indignant plea
Have You not laid down, all for my sake,
Give Me your yoke, and Mine take

How many tears gathered in glass
Will Thou overlook Father, let it pass
The callous word so insolently spoken
Settled on a gentle person, left so broken
The whispered sorry, so hushed unheard
What damage to undo, pain smeared
Bottled in guilt, stream out all
Hiding behind pride, a congeal wall
Added waters, flow past my Nile.

A dried stained face saunters to You
Seeking eagerly to stop, how? has no clue
Wretched pompous moments of the past
Added waters to my Nile, don’t last
Father in His love, with His rod to chasten
Pound my crooked paths to straighten
And what father who loves will not discipline
Abba, tears worn out, left behind a sparkled sheen

Take me back..

The smiles they run down the memory lane
And many more a time I skipped into girly laughter
You’ve held me close, I forgot all the pain
Your loving arms, held me, said love you daughter.

I sat by you, on the high stool, watched the kitchen pot
It wasn’t by choice, I rather play out mother
This room is so big, greasy, smelly, so hot
I ain’t gonna cook mum, so why bother

I’ll take my time come back from school
There’s so much I’ve spotted on the way,
I need to splash around, all road pools
Walk the neighbor’s barn, crash down in hay

I’ll come home sooner, roll over play with the dogs
Get up and define me, puppy & furry
I aint gonna sit down, no science or math logs
Oh what whatever, finish get done in a scurry

I’m out in the fields; this is where I want to be
Stand across watch the ripples of a flowing stream
Watch the wonders of the winds blow the green leaf on the tree
Smile away, cuddle dear, hold close my dream

Take me back; wind me to the little gal time
Waking up to the shy sunrise seeping thru the blinds
I’m standing here, poised beautifully tall
I’m searching within, there was this lovely gal I knew when small.

For my little girl to be

I hold your little baby fingers..the softness takes away all the pain
The hours of labor fade away, your baby eyes take my stage
From here on your first before my face
As time turns in, I’ll catch up, keep to your energetic pace

Baby you will grow up, the most beautiful you will be,
I’ll hold your hand, be there when you need me
I’m aware of the time that will come, you prefer I’m not around
Little gal, I stay away, I will, I will hold my ground

Sweetest angel, in little blue angel wings,
Ur chuckling laughter, around the room, plenty joy it brings
As you bounce across the new cut grass
My heart it breaks at your first fall, a million pieces like glass

I watch you school bag in hand, your curly locks beautiful strands
Your chubby hands they hug me warm,
Walk out of the door, you turn to smile
The familiar heartache I feel, sit down a little while

I watch you grow and blossom full
I gleam & then annoyance shake me, as the boys go drool
You run out to college, your black hair dance in waves
You stop at the door, turn back, your most beautiful smile cuts thru my haze

You’re a young lady now, walking down the street tall
Promises you have, dreams galore, big and small
I’ll stand by you, guide you and love you
From this fierce world, my little child I will do my best to protect you

The world at your feet many will bestow
Amidst the dazzling wonders, stay humble, gracefully low
Pray fervently darling, be kind & love fiercely,
I’ve learnt in this time called my life, baby you too, seek God’s wisdom truly.

Love you.. ma.

Dark Night..She tells her tale

She stands still now… she had overpowered the light of the day
She smiles down at the black waves, her victory blankets the bay
She stares deep, takes in the beauty of dark
Velvet pillars they soar high, she watched day pass by, lark.

She’s talking to the moon, winks back to the twinkle of the star
Long friends we’ve been, welcome you from afar
Breathe in the beauty; it’s the sparkle of twilight
Denser, I will get now, it’s the time that is called night

There’s hours to go, & partner me to keep safe
The people they rest now, until morning day break
My friends be silent, heavenly bodies dimmer your lights
The people they rest now, allow peaceful sleep, their souls delight

She accompanies the mother, whispered bedtime rhymes
She watches over the street urchin, counted his day’s dimes
She hushes the voices of sweethearts; draws close the bodies of lovers
She engulfs time in her arms, midnight solace cover

Silent thru her journey, the occasional rustle of the winds
Carries them she heard they needed, drops it for the tired minds
Raging trees they upset her, darker darkness she’ll surround
My people they rest now, hold still hold ground.

The precious dreams they have to be seen unobscured
The blessing from heavens, many prayers now answered
My God has decided to call on you today
Gently & softly, I’ll make the path for His angels, obey.

Daughter of time so unearthly, in graceful black I stand
Watch over, I fulfill my responsibility towards this human land
Raising myself up now , swallow my pride within
Looking ahead at the horizon, Dawns breaking in

Goodbye to a known stranger

I ponder back I saw not a time that paths would cross with you
The goodbyes that were said, in my mind were goodbyes true
For you all had been wished well for
When upon new waters new winds you chose to soar.

Time has its ways, miles beyond distance.. fondness
Relations though nameless, beyond time..ageless
Some thoughts surround so as to care,
To watch one smile, even when you know not, its there

It’s a bond of the heart- true and meaningful
Not in a way binding, make it choke, stifle
A way paved by the mind understanding benign
The joys in the heart they rest, memories swell sweet feeling

No meets to obligation, no sets for expectation, no hurt no pain
A pure feeling of bliss in companionship to gain
Acceptance of it is.. pure form of being unconditional
In receiving and giving need it be perennial?

In all honesty I am with you.. and I agree
Beauty of a unnamed relation.. a union so free
Why would that be no surprise to me..no airs ever to impress
Reflecting back just good cheer, simple jest for the moment, allowed smiles caress

Life looks at those moments, when years ran, totaled to none
When the heart a million songs in a single one sung
When the most familiar were distanced from most,
When the stranger unknown counted upon

Then the heart grows fond knowing there is still hope
Allow love to blossom, in this world, man’s dope
And warm love settle over you.. mould you to receive the best that is to be
Little I know this stranger I like, but for the person he is, the best is meant for he

Make it go

I’ve had no time to cry
To let go of the anguish, bitter moments of reality
I’ve had no time to drain, the sad smile in my eye
To wash away the pain, threats of attack, sanity

The voice within is screaming loud,
Before my face, a thick dense cloud
I’m waving my hands, I call attention, take away from me
Hideous laughter’s, fear pass by, please flee

Many a night, silent, cold and long
The pangs of darkness they continue grow strong
Oh whisper aloud, say more, let it go
Was it my Babel pride, let it sow?

Every step I took, led me in deeper deeper
Warning bells they rung, I laughed, I am my own keeper
Followed the calls of sweet seduces come baby love
Ignored the soft voices they seemed to come from above

Silently, very near He stood, watched me go,
Time had stopped for Him, till I came back, I was so slow
Cords of love, He wound back, knew He would draw
Lovingly He stroked the mess, mended my every flaw

Trickle.. its on its way out, the pain it flows away
The voices now soft, come here, to Me your dear
Hush child, I hold you close, My little one, don’t fear
Shhhhhhh, gentle arms rock, to Love I sway.
