I played the puppy

I played the puppy

I watched through the French windows

The little ball of fur she rolled over in glee

She waited her master to arrive

Her brown puppy eyes now turning to plea

She had been waiting now, a long while to come

She had met in the past, a lot of deprive

He walked in casual, as ever as he

She did the flip, pure joy as joy can be

T ’was amazing to see how in love was she

A dog to her master, that’s all she would ever be

Happy to cuddle up drop in to his lap

Happy to stay put, allow the ruffle in her fur

Turn up her head, a generous lick upon his face

Her puppy nozzle a cold trail she leaves

Gladly she’ll give all that he could ask

Yet, what could a puppy give, to love her back

Alas, a moment does not last a moment longer

Came in this beautiful lady, fair white and all

Shrugged off the puppy, cuteness, her head and heart

Desperate she tried, maybe a trick would retain

A little while longer, see! I can stand on two feet

Paused for a fleeting one, he flashed a look,

Little puppy, I am amused, but you’re not worth a bit

Turned around, followed the white one

Little puppy it’s a world entertained full of con

Don’t let your furry bounce be bothered

Your puppy brown eyes let not a tear run

It is as it is, life has it ways, destiny you won
